occupation

Nachtspuren is a German feature film by Michael Grothe , which premiered on January 31, 2009 in Germany and was released on DVD on May 28, 2009. The film is an episodic drama whose various storylines intersect several times. The film takes place in one night.

action

The following summary of contents was published on the official film website:

“In a seemingly ordinary night, the fates of people cross each other who have one thing in common: the next morning their lives will no longer be the same. A young police officer stands helplessly before his marriage fails and experiences the hardest service of his career. For a young woman, a tender flirtation turns into brutal seriousness. In a life crisis, a DJ draws new hope from an old friend. Two friends pay a heavy price for a moment of exuberance. The loss of his girlfriend drives a young man to an act that brings the protagonists together at the end of the night. "

production

Nachtspuren is a so-called low-budget film because it was produced with almost no budget. All those involved worked on the film free of charge and only took part in the production on the side. For example, producer Michael Grothe actually studied sociology at Bielefeld University during the production period . The team received prominent support from actress Nova Meierhenrich , who took on a supporting role in the film after reading the script. The rapper Kollegah also contributed two songs to the film's soundtrack.

criticism

The film was largely received positively by the reporting press. The Westfalen-Blatt described the film as “definitely worth seeing” and called the actors “authentic”. The magazine Ultimo wrote based on the location of Bielefeld: "Bielefeld will be New York". The magazine Der Bielefelder described the film as “dramatic and captivating”.
