The diocese of Cruzeiro do Sul ( Latin Dioecesis Crucis Australis , Portuguese Diocese de Cruzeiro do Sul ) is one in Brazil located Roman Catholic diocese based in Cruzeiro do Sul in the state of Acre .

history

The diocese Cruzeiro do Sul was on May 22, 1931 by Pope Pius XI. established with the papal bull Munus regendi from cession of territory of the Apostolic Prefecture Tefé as territorial prelature Juruá . On June 25, 1987, the territorial prelature Juruá was raised to the diocese by Pope John Paul II with the papal bull Cum praelatura and renamed the diocese Cruzeiro do Sul . The Diocese of Cruzeiro do Sul is subordinate to the Archdiocese of Manaus as a suffragan .
