The Roman Catholic Territorial Prelature of Tefé ( Latin Territorialis Praelatura Tefensis , Portuguese Prelazia de Tefé ) is in Brazil located Roman Catholic territorial prelate based in Tefé in the state of Amazonas .

history

The Territorial Prelature Tefé was established on May 23, 1910 by Pope Pius X from ceding territories of the diocese of Amazonas as Apostolic Prefecture Tefé . On May 22, 1931, the Apostolic Prefecture of Tefé gave up parts of its territory to establish the Juruá Territorial Prelature .

The Apostolic Prefecture Tefé was on August 11, 1950 by Pope Pius XII. raised to the territorial prelature with the Apostolic Constitution Quum and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Manaus as a suffragan .
