Sérgio Eduardo Castriani

Sérgio Eduardo Castriani CSSp (born May 31, 1954 in Regente Feijó ) is a Brazilian religious and emeritus Roman Catholic Archbishop of Manaus .

Life

Sérgio Eduardo Castriani joined the religious community of Spiritans and was ordained a priest on December 9, 1978 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him coadjutor prelate of Tefé on May 27, 1998 . The prelate of Tefé, Mário Clemente Neto CSSp, ordained him episcopal on August 9th of the same year; Co- consecrators were Antônio Agostinho Marochi , Bishop of Presidente Prudente , and Luís Herbst CSSp, Bishop of Cruzeiro do Sul . With the resignation of Mário Clemente Neto on October 19, 2000, he succeeded him as Prelate of Tefé.

On December 12, 2012, Pope Benedict XVI appointed him . to the Archbishop of Manaus. On November 27, 2019, Pope Francis accepted his early resignation.
