Nadia Alexandra Bjorlin (born August 2, 1980 in Newport , Rhode Island ) is an American actress and singer .

Bjorlin was born in Newport, Rhode Island, but lived in Sweden until she was seven . Her father was the Swedish composer and conductor Ulf Björlin (1933–1993). Her mother is an interior designer from Iran. Bjorlin speaks English, Swedish and Persian accordingly. When her family moved to West Palm Beach , Florida , she attended the Palm Beach County School of the Arts (now: Dreyfoos School of the Arts ). In 1998 she finished third in the Miss Florida Teen election .

Career

Although her maiden name is Nadia Alexandra Björlin, she uses the name Nadia Bjorlin (she speaks her family name "bor-lin", not "byor-lin", as a "j" is pronounced in Sweden like a "y", as in Bjork , and she speaks it with an "o" not an "ö").

Nadia Bjorlin's first appearance was in the soap opera Zeit der Sehnsucht , where she played the character Chloe Lane from December 1999 . In June 2003 Bjorlin left the series to focus on her singing career. In November 2004, however, she returned. In September 2005 Bjorlin left time of longing again and took on a role in the television series Sex, Love & Secrets . When this was canceled, Bjorlin made guest appearances on television series such as Jake in Progress and Out of Practice .

She also made an appearance in the independent film If I Had Known I Was a Genius . In 2007 she had her first leading role in the film Redline . In the same year she returned to Zeit der Sehnsucht and this time played until September 2011. Bjorlin has appeared on the reality show Dirty Soap since September 2011 .

She is in a relationship with Brandon Beemer , whom she met while filming at Zeit der Sehnsucht .
