Nafi Stuttgart ( spelling : NAFI Stuttgart ) is a German futsal and soccer club from Stuttgart . The futsal team once won the DFB Futsal Cup , the German championship in futsal.

history

The club emerged from a hobby team that was founded around 2005. Five years later, the team joined the Türk SC Stuttgart . After this club disbanded, the team continued to play as Hilalspor Stuttgart . In 2013 the name was changed to Nafi Stuttgart. Since the Württemberg Football Association was of the opinion that Nafi was a family name and that this was therefore not permitted as a club name, dots were placed between the letters. According to the club's president, Nafi stands for new amateur football internationally . However, the club's website says that the name comes from the sponsor Nafis Bakirci.

Futsal

Under the name TSC Stuttgart, the team was able to qualify for the DFB Futsal Cup for the first time in 2008 and became German runners-up after a 3-6 final defeat against UFC Münster . After the team retired early in 2009, 2012 and 2013, the club won the German championship in 2014 . After victories over Hamburg Panthers and UFC Münster, Stuttgart moved into the final again, in which Holzpfosten Schwerte was defeated 5: 3. A year later , the swords reciprocated with a 10-4 victory in the semi-finals. For unknown reasons, the Stuttgart team did not take part in the Regionalliga Süd , which was introduced in 2015 , and are now playing second class.

Soccer

Nafi Stuttgart is also active in football. The first team rose to the Stuttgart regional league in 2015 and the regional league in 2017. During the winter break of the 2018/19 season, Nafi finished second in the national league, but due to lack of salary payments and internal disputes, the team only finished the season in eleventh place in the table. For the 2019/20 season, the club no longer reported a team and was therefore placed in the last place in the table of the 2018/19 national league season.
