Najm Shwan Ali Al-Quraishi (born July 9, 1997 ) is an Iraqi football player on the position of defender . In September 2017, the central defender switched to NK Rudar Velenje on loan until the end of the season, playing in the Slovenska Nogometna Liga , the highest Slovenian football league. In summer 2018 he returned to his regular club al-Dhafra in the UAE Arabian Gulf League .

Club career

Najm Shwan Ali Al-Quraishi was born on July 9, 1997; Little is known about his early career. In 2017 he made the way from Iraqi first division club al-Zawraa SC , with whom he participated in the 2017 AFC Cup , but only sat on the bench and did not play a minute, to al-Dhafra in the UAE Arabian Gulf League , which highest football league in the United Arab Emirates . From here it was awarded to the Slovenian first division club NK Rudar Velenje at the end of August or beginning of September 2017 until the end of the 2017/18 season. After the 20-year-old Iraqi was not part of the squad in the first few rounds after his engagement, he sat on the bench of the club's professional team for the first time in a competitive game in a 0-0 draw against NK Olimpija Ljubljana on October 29 . Al-Quraishi was used for the first time by coach Marijan Pušnik in the following game, a 1: 2 away defeat against NK Celje on November 3 ; from the 86th minute of the game he replaced the Serbian Ivan Vasiljević, who was about a year younger .

After that, he sat on the bench for the rest of the games without being used, before starting on April 4, 2018 in a 4-1 home defeat against NK Domžale and after a yellow card in the 67th minute of the game, ten minutes later already mentioned Vasiljević was replaced. In the following round until the end of the Slovenska Nogometna Liga 2017/18 , he alternated between sitting on the bench or not even part of the professional squad on the respective game days. In the final standings Rudar Velenje took fourth place in the table, but was already 30 points behind champions NK Olimpija Ljubljana and runner-up NK Maribor , and 23 points behind third-placed NK Domžale. After his loan period, Al-Quraishi returned to his traditional club in the United Arab Emirates in the summer of 2018.
