Nakamikado

Nakamikado ( Japanese 中 御 門 天皇 , Nakamikado-tennō ; * January 14, 1702 , † May 10, 1737 ) was the 114th Tennō of Japan . His personal name was Yasuhito ( 慶 仁 ), as a child he was called Masu .

Life

He was the son of Higashiyama -tennō and Kushige Yoshiko ( 櫛 笥 賀子 ). Former regent Konoe Motohiro obtained the approval of the shogunate for his elevation to crown prince in 1706 from his son-in-law Tokugawa Ienobu .

Emperor Nakamikado reigned from 1709 to 1735. The real power in Japan was the Tokugawa - shoguns in Edo .

He was married to Konoe Hisako ( 近衛 尚 子 ), they had 6 sons and 8 daughters. His grave is in Tsukinowa no misasagi ( 月 輪 陵 ).
