Sakuramachi ( Japanese 桜 町 天皇 , Sakuramachi-tennō ; * February 8, 1720 , † May 28, 1750 ) was the 115th Tennō of Japan . His proper name was Teruhito ( 照 仁 ).

Life

Sakuramachi was the son of Emperor Nakamikado and Konoe Hisako ( 近衛 尚 子 ). He reigned from 1735 to 1747. The real power in Japan was the Tokugawa - shoguns in Edo .

Sakumarachi was married to Empress Nijō Ieko ( 二条 舎 子 ) and Anekōji Sadako ( 姉 小路 定子 ). He had a son and two daughters, two of his three children ascended the throne: his successor Emperor Momozono and his daughter Empress Go-Sakuramachi . His grave is in Tsukinowa no misasagi ( 月 輪 陵 ).
