Nakop is a small town in the Northern Cape Province in the northwest of South Africa . Nakop is a border post to the neighboring Republic of Namibia . The border crossing is manned all the time and next to Vioolsdrift it is the most important South African border station towards Namibia.
Nakop is about ten kilometers east of Ariamsvlei (the border station on the Namibian side) and about two kilometers east of the border. The border is connected to the South African road network and the B3 national road to the Namibian road network via the N10 . Nakop is about ten kilometers north of the Orange River .
In the 2011 census, the number of residents was combined with that of other small settlement areas in the non-urban area of Kai! Garib .
