The Namibian Sports Commission ( English Namibia Sports Commission ; NSC ) is the umbrella and regulatory organization of all sports associations in Namibia , based in Windhoek , Namibia . It is a state body and was established by the Namibia Sports Act (No. 12, 2003) on August 27, 2003.

The Sports Commission is subordinate to 53 recognized sports (as of August 2018), which have been divided into three categories since August 1, 2018 and are accordingly publicly funded in descending order:
- National sports : soccer , netball and rugby
- Priority Sports : Boxing , Wrestling , Athletics, and Paralympic Sports
- Development sports: including cricket
tasks
The main tasks of the Namibian Sports Commission are:
- Administration of the sports development fund
- Coordination, control, development and support of sport
- Ensure effective administration of national sports federations
- Promotion of fair play
- Securing access to sport for all social classes everywhere in Namibia
- Support the development of sports products
- Approval of national and international sporting events
- Advisory function for the ministry
- Organization of further training in sport
- Supporting national sports associations in their search for coaches
- Special projects after consultation with the ministry
- Coordination of national sports federations
- Development, management and monitoring of sports facilities and facilities
- Awarding of the annual sports awards of the Republic of Namibia
- Monitoring compliance with the Sport Act by all national sports associations
- Monitoring sporting events and people who are not part of the NSC
- Support of national sports associations in the uniform organization of activities and events
structure
The Namibian Sports Commission is headed by a Chief Administrator , currently Rusten Morgane, and a Head of Finance and Administration . There are also in the Sports Commission of nine members or commissioners ( members or Commissioner ), including a chairman (since 2009 Piet du Plooy ) and a deputy chairman. All members are appointed by the Ministry of Youth, National Services, Sports and Culture .
Certain sports are assigned to each member.
Committees
Part of the NSC administration are five sports committees to which various areas of responsibility are assigned.
- National colors ( Colors Committee ): Each national team of a recognized sports association must wear the national sports symbols and colors determined by the sports committee. This includes the sports emblem with an eagle and the inscription "Namibia".
