Nana Effah-Apenteng

Nana Effah-Apenteng (* 7. August 1945 in Bompata in the Ashanti Region of Ghana ) is a Ghanaian diplomat in retirement .

education

From 1959 to 1965 he attended the Mfantsipim School in Cape Coast . From 1965 to 1968 he studied political science at the University of Ghana . He was a qualified teaching assistant in the Department of Political Science at the University of Ghana from 1968 to 1970.. In 1970 he became a Master of Arts in African Studies . From 1973 to 1974 he completed the diploma course in public administration at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration . He is a graduate student in International Relations from the University of Oxford .

Career

He is the governor of the Ashanti region in Bompata, is married and has three children. In October 1970 he entered the foreign service and was employed on missions in New York City , Moscow , Rome and Washington, DC . Apenteng represented Ghana in the 27th to 29th sessions of the United Nations Economic and Social Council and in the 31st to 35th and 55th to 58th sessions of the United Nations General Assembly in New York City. From May 2000 to 2007 he was a permanent representative at the UN headquarters .
