Nancy Baumann , born Nancy Rentzsch (* 23. November 1970 in Munich ) is a today in Switzerland living singer , dancer and costume designer. She was with the groups Haddaway and 3-o-Matic , among others . She has been married to DJ BoBo since 2001 .

Career

Childhood and youth

During her school days, Nancy completed various courses in order to complete a musical education. These included ballet, jazz, step, acting and singing. At the age of 12 she was accepted by 2000 applicants as one of only two selected ballet dancers at the ballet school of the Heinz Bosl Foundation . At the age of 16 she was able to prevail against 300 applicants and get a role at the Elvismusical in Munich.

The first successes

After her training, she worked for the television ballet "Preston Phillips Dancers", at fashion shows as a model and also on TV she got smaller supporting roles in series such as Anna , Tatort and Der Alte .

Your rise in the music business

In 1993 she made her first pop musical experiences as a background singer and dancer for Haddaway . She met DJ BoBo at a mega dance festival and has been an integral part of his band since January 1995.

During this time she was part of the music band 3-o-Matic . With the songs "Success", "Hand in Hand", and "All I Want Is You" she achieved international success. This was followed by the band “ 2 for Good ” with the two titles “You and Me” and “I'll be waiting for you”. In 1998 Nancy started her solo career with "Enflame". Songs like "Hold on to your dream" and "Listen to your heart" come from this time. Her solo project, however, was not very successful.

2 for Good

“2 for Good” was the name of the successor to 3-o-Matic . In addition to Nancy, it also consisted of the former 3-o-Matic member Tanja Geuder. They also appeared on the “World in Motion” tour of Nancy's partner DJ Bobo as a support act, who also co-produced their songs, “You and me” and “I'll be waiting for you”.

Enflame

"Enflame" was the name of her solo project in 1998, which, like "2 for Good", only survived two songs. She recorded the first single with the former masterboy singer "Trixi". The second single was recorded with the singer "Christiane Eiben". Both singles did not reach the top 100 charts.

She has been married to DJ BoBo alias René Baumann since August 9, 2001 and has two children with him. The family lives together in Kastanienbaum in Switzerland .
