Nancy Phillips
Nancy Phillips (born Cowperthwaite; born June 18, 1921 ) is a former American hurdler , high and long jumper .
At the Pan American Games in Buenos Aires in 1951 , she won bronze over the 80 m hurdles , was sixth in the long jump and eighth in the high jump.
She was US champion in the 80 m hurdles five times (1943, 1946, 1947, 1951, 1953) and once in the long jump (1955). In the hall she won the national title over 50 yards or 80 m hurdles six times (1945, 1950–1953, 1955), four times in the standing long jump (1948–1950, 1956) and twice in the high jump (1949, 1951).
In 1948 she did not start at the Olympic Games in London because she had married shortly before.
