Nandaime is a municipality in the department of Granada in Nicaragua , 67 km from Managua removed.
history
In the Chorotega language, the name Nandaime is composed of Nanda for Bach and the ima for abundance. The village patrons are Santa Ana and San Joaquín .
The first settlement called Nandaime or Nandaimé was across from Isla de Zapatera and was the place where Gil González Davila came in 1523. The population lived in the tidal range of Lake Nicaragua .
Findings made of ceramics, knives and other tools that are found during archaeological excavations provide information about their presence.
A second location of the settlement was two leguas east of today's city in the district of the Río Manares. It was laid out in the Spanish colonial style, had a massive Catholic church and was buried by the eruption of the Mombacho volcano in 1524 and 1570.
The patronage holiday is July 26th in honor of Santa Ana. The names of the traditional dances are: El Cartel, El Atabal, Las Poesías, Los Encamisados, La Danza del Pájaro, La Sirena, La Tecolota, Los Diablos, Los Indios
