The Nanjing Olympic Center Stadium is a multifunctional stadium in Nanjing , China . Construction of the entire complex began in August 2002 and ended in December 2004. On May 1, 2005, the stadium was opened. It was used for the 10th National Games of China that same year. Today football matches and athletics competitions are held in the stadium. The Jiangsu Sainty club from the Chinese Super League plays its home games here.
The entire complex extends over 89.6 hectares of land. In addition to the stadium, the Nanjing Olympic Sports Center Gym , a swimming stadium, a tennis center and a press center are also located on the premises.
The architects of the project were the Populous architects . Formerly known as HOK Sport + Venue + Event .
