Naoto Mizuuchi ( Japanese 水 内 直 人 , Mizuuchi Naoto ; born August 30, 1989 in Tomakomai , Hokkaidō ) is a Japanese ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Tōhoku Free Blades from the Asia League Ice Hockey since 2012 .

Career

Naoto Mizuuchi began his career as a hockey player at Chūō University , for whose ice hockey team he was active from 2008 to 2012. The striker then moved to the Tōhoku Free Blades in the Asia League Ice Hockey , with whom he won the title in this then trinational league with teams from China, Japan and South Korea in his first year. Also in 2015 he won the Asia League with the Free Blades

International

For Japan, Mizuuchi already took part in the U18 World Championships in 2006 and 2007 in Division I and the U20 World Championship in 2009 , where he and his team were promoted to Division I by winning Group A of Division II. He also played with the Japanese student selection at the 2011 Winter Universiade in Erzurum, Turkey .

Mizuuchi made his debut in the men's national team at the 2013 World Cup , where his team competed in Group A of Division I and finished fourth. Mizuuchi scored the 1-0 opening goal in a 4-1 win against the later relegated Great Britain .
