Naphthol-AS-MX-phosphate is a chemical compound that belongs to the group of 2-naphthol derivatives.
properties
Naphtol AS-MX-Phosphate - like the phosphoric acid esters of other Naphthol-AS derivatives - is used in biochemistry as a chromogenic substrate for immunostaining with an alkaline phosphatase . After enzymatic hydrolysis of the phosphoric acid ester, a red azo dye is formed in the presence of the fast red salt TR . This method is used, for example, in Western blotting and in immunohistochemistry .
