'Nascetta' is an autochthonous white grape variety from Piemonte . It is only grown in small quantities and only in Langhe with DOC classification. In the past it was mainly grown between Alba and Mondovì , today it can be found almost only around the village of Novello with about 20 hectares .

The early to mid-ripening 'Nascetta', which tends to trickle down , has a morphological similarity to 'Nasco' , but is, as far as is known, not related to it. However, there is a genetic similarity. The yields are rather low at 4 to 4.5 hl / ha. Synonyms are 'Anascetta' and 'Nas Cëtta'.

The 'Nascetta' wines have a fresh character with hints of acacia blossom , sage , rosemary and lemon . With their strong fruit aromas , the 'Nascetta' wines are reminiscent of ' Muscat ' or ' Gewürztraminer '. They have a good acid structure with a high aging potential . The 'Nascetta' variety has been cultivated again since the early to mid-1990s, after having been forgotten for decades.
