Nashenas , also Nashnas or Nashinas , ( Persian and paschto : ناشناس, "the unknown"), actually Sadiq Fitrat Habibi (صادق فطرت) (born December 28, 1935 in Kandahar ), is one of the most popular Afghan singers from the Pashtun people .

Life

Nashenas comes from a Pashtun Kakar tribe - that of the Musazay. The family lived in what is now Pakistan between 1940 and 1947, as the father was a representative of the Da Afghanistan Bank at the time. There he learned the Urdu language . To prevent his father from noticing that he was making music, he put a blanket over the harmonium and taught himself to play. His singing career began as a student. Here chose "Nashenas" as a pseudonym . He also composed many songs, including the song Dara ba Dara Hawaye Paghman Ba Dara . In 1961, 1969, 1981 and 1984 he was voted the most popular singer on radio. In the 1960s he gave concerts in Iran with other Afghan musicians. In 1959 he completed his studies in the field of political economy at the Faculty of Law and Political Science at the University of Kabul . He then worked for many years in the Ministry of Information and Culture. This was followed by a job at Radio Kabul . Here, when he was director, he was responsible for foreign programs. In 1962 he traveled to what was then the Soviet Union to learn the Russian language . After returning in 1968, he went back to the Soviet Union, where he completed postgraduate studies and received his doctorate . A trip to India followed between 1970 and 1973 to learn more about the local classical music. Here, too, he was active as an artist. He was then appointed head of literature and music at Radio Afghanistan and was a member of all literary institutions. His repertoire amounts to around 400 songs that have been recorded on the radio, cassette tapes and on television. Nashenas has lived abroad for about 27 years.

For the Iranian singer Fara Parsi he composed the song Mara Bebakhsh, which was released on the LP Teheran, Tehran

Nashenas, who lived in Kabul for many years, has lived outside of Afghanistan for several years. In 2016 it was rumored that he had died, but it turned out to be a hoax.
