Natalia Barbu (born August 22, 1979 in Bălți ) is a Moldovan singer who became known in 2007 through her participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 with the song Fight .

Life and accomplishments

Barbu comes from a musical family and learned to play the violin at the age of seven.

Before her career as a singer, Barbu was a member of the alternative jazz band Trigon . a. was involved in songwriting.

On May 10, 2007, Natalia Barbu entered the semifinals of the Eurovision Song Contest in Helsinki for Moldova, where she qualified with a tenth place for the final and took the same place in the final that took place two days later. For the song Fight , which was composed by an 18-year-old composer, she recorded the violins herself.

Natalia Barbu has been to Germany several times. In 2004 she recorded the duet La Verita with tenor Michael Kleitman for his album La Perfetta Idea .

Barbu is under contract with the Romanian music label Cat Music .
