Natalia Valeeva (born November 15, 1969 in Tîrnauca , Moldovan SSR ) is a former Moldovan - Italian archer .
Career
Natalia Valeeva took part in six Olympic Games : At the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona she was part of the delegation of the United Team , with whose team she won the bronze medal. She also won bronze in the individual. In 1996 she accepted in Atlanta for the Republic of Moldova and finished the individual competition in twelfth place. At the end of the year she married the Italian archer Roberto Cocchi and received Italian citizenship. From then on she also competed internationally for Italy. In 2000 she reached seventh place in Sydney both individually and with the team. In 2004 she only competed in the singles in Athens and finished 53rd. Four years later she improved in Beijing in the singles to 19th place, while she was fifth in the team competition. At her sixth and last Olympic Games in London in 2012 , she finished 17th in the singles, with the Italian team she reached ninth place.
At world championships she won the world championship title ten times, both in the open air and in the hall, seven of them in the individual. There are also three silver and two bronze medals. She was European champion five times. In 2015 she also took part in the European Games in Baku , where she won gold medals in both mixed and team competitions. The following year she announced her retirement from competitive sports.
