Natalie Louise Haynes (* 1974 in Birmingham ) is a British writer, radio journalist and comedian.

Life

Haynes grew up in Birmingham and after completing her studies taught classical literature at Christ's College (Cambridge) . She works as a literary and film critic and expert for several BBC radio and television programs and appears on various talk shows (regularly on Wordaholics ), quizzes and satirical programs . I.a. she produced programs on the ancient satirical poets Aristophanes , Juvenal and Martial , on the role of women in Euripides and other topics from antiquity. On reading tours in the English-speaking world, she repeatedly presents topics from ancient literature in popular form. At times she toured Europe and the USA with a comedy program.

Haynes is a regular contributor to The Times , The Guardian , New Humanist , The Sunday Times Magazine, and other newspapers and magazines.
