Nathan Söderblom Church (Klosterfelde)
The evangelical Nathan Söderblom Church stands in the Ulrikenstraße 7-9 the Berlin local situation Klosterfelde in the district Wilhelmstadt of Spandau .
The congregation of the Melanchthon Church had become too large due to new settlements . Since 1957 the Melanchthon congregation used the “Schwedenhaus” in Stadtrandstraße 481 in Falkenhagener Feld as a second base, but the church supply remained unsatisfactory. In the fall of 1962, the division of the Melanchthon parish was approved, which came into force on January 1, 1963. The new parish chose Nathan Söderblom as its namesake . In the summer of 1966, Spandau's mother parish, the Nikolai parish, acquired a piece of land and transferred ownership to the Nathan Söderblom parish. The architect Arnold Bischof built a prefabricated community center there in 1968 , which was inaugurated on March 10, 1968. The center contains a community hall that is used for church services, events for children, young people and the elderly, adult education courses and dance festivals. There are also seminar and club rooms, a foyer , a youth cellar, an office and a pastor's apartment. Due to the proximity of the Melanchthon Church , it was decided not to have its own church .
