Nathan Peavy (born March 31, 1985 in Dayton , Ohio ) is an American basketball player .

His father Terry was also a basketball player, he played for the University of Pittsburgh and was drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers in 1979 . His mother Nila, who is from Puerto Rico , was a swimmer on the Puerto Rican national team at the Pan-America Games .

The 2.03 m tall and 100 kg heavy power forward played for four years for the Miami Ohio Red Hawks, where he got 14.1 points and 6.3 rebounds per game in his final season . For the 2007/08 season he moved to the German Bundesliga club Paderborn Baskets . After 3 years with the Artland Dragons , Peavy moved within the Beko BBL in summer 2012 and signed a contract with ALBA Berlin .

In the summer months he plays in his mother's homeland for the Vaqueros de Bayamón, with whom he became champions in 2009. He also competes internationally for the Puerto Rico national team and participated in the 2010 World Basketball Championship in Turkey .

In June 2012, Forward signed a one-year contract with the option of another season at ALBA Berlin. However, he tore a cruciate ligament before the start of the season in September 2012 and could not be used this season.
