Petrovice II (German Petrowitz II ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located 17 kilometers northeast of Vlašim and belongs to the Okres Kutná Hora .

Petrovice II is located in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands on a ridge above the Losinský potok valley.

history

Petrovice was first mentioned in a document in 1291. The Church of St. Martin has been traceable as a plebany since 1350. After the church was later a branch church of the parishes in Kácov and then Čestín , it was elevated to a parish church in 1866.

After the replacement of patrimonial Petrovice in 1850 became a part of the municipality Losiny in the judicial district Kohljanowitz , from 1868 the village belonged to the district Kuttenberg . Since 1921 the village has been named Petrovice II to distinguish it from a place of the same name belonging to the same district ( Petrovice I ). In the course of the municipal reform of 1960, the municipalities of Losiny and Staré Nespeřice were merged to form the new municipality of Petrovice II.

The districts of Petrovice II and Losiny were declared village monument zones.
