Krchleby (German Krchleb , 1939-1945 Kirchleins ) is a municipality in the Okres Kutná Hora in the Central Bohemian Region in the Czech Republic . On August 28, 2006 it had 376 inhabitants. The place is about 4 km southwest of Čáslav in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands .

Krchleby is located on the right side above the Klejnárka valley . State road II / 339 runs through Krchleby between Čáslav and Červené Janovice .

Neighboring towns are Cihelna and Močovice in the north, Čáslav in the northeast, Žáky in the east, Tupadly and Štrampouch in the southeast, Dubina and Hraběšín in the south, Chedrbí and Souňov in the southwest, Souňovský Mlýn and Vodranty in the west and Kluky in the northwest.

history

The village was first mentioned in 1257 in connection with Peter von Krchleby. In 1384 the place was called Leutolffhain . It belonged to the German-speaking Kuttenberg language island, which existed until the Hussite Wars . The owners of the estate changed many times; During the Thirty Years' War, Captain Walter Deveroux received the estate as a reward for the murder of Albrecht von Waldstein and Adam Erdmann Trčka von Lípa . In 1666 Ferdinand Franz Rabenhaupt von Suchá acquired the Krchleby estate and had a castle built in place of the fortress.

After the abolition of patrimonial Krchleby formed a municipality in the judicial district of Časlau . From 1868 the village belonged to the Časlau district . In 1906 the landowner Karl IV zu Schwarzenberg had the roof and the second floor of the dilapidated castle removed. During the demolition work, the entire building was so badly damaged that Karl zu Schwarzenberg decided to demolish it completely.

In the course of the territorial reform of 1960 the Okres Čáslav was repealed; Krchleby was assigned to the Okres Kutná Hora and incorporated Vodranty. On November 24, 1990, Vodranty broke away from Krchleby. Since the beginning of 1999 Chedrbí is designated as a district.

Community structure

The municipality of Krchleby consists of the districts Chedrbí ( Chedrb ) and Krchleby, which also form cadastral districts. The settlements of Cihelna, Dolní Dubina and Dubina also belong to Krchleby.
