Community structure

The municipality of Nové Dvory consists of the districts Nové Dvory ( Neuhof ) and Ovčáry ( sheep huts ).

history

At the transition from the 13th to the 14th century, a farm yard of the Sedlec monastery was built on the site of the current location . Nowa Curia was first mentioned in a document in 1318 .

After the monastery was destroyed by the Hussites in 1421, the Neuhof fell to the Bohemian Crown. In 1436 Emperor Sigismund handed over the Neuhof including the festivals and the sheep huts to Bedřich von Strážnice as a pledge. Through Georg von Podiebrad , Jaroslav von Újezd received most of the goods as an independent lordship. Vladislav II released the pledge again and returned Nové Dvory in 1501 to the rebuilt Sedlec Monastery. Because of its financial needs, the monastery was forced to pledge the Neuhof several times. After the monastery was unable to redeem the debt due to Hynko Martinic on Chřenovice in 1552, Nové Dvory was hereditary sold to Hynko von Martinic on April 21, 1552 through the mediation of Charles von Zerotein on Žehušice . When he died in 1568, his heirs sold the rich rule to the descendants of Charles von Zerotein. The owner of Neuhof became Johann Lukas von Zerotein, who had a fortress built in 1569. After his death in 1588 his brother Kaspar Melchior von Zerotein acquired the property from his creditors. He acquired the villages of Záboří , Lišice, Kobylnice , Svatý Jakub and Církvice and expanded Novas villas as a mansion. Kaspar Melchior von Zerotein had the fortress converted into a renaissance castle. On July 21, 1628, before his death, he transferred his villages to his wife Elisabeth, née. from Waldstein . Their daughter Elisabeth Polyxena von Zerotein sold the property to Peter Vok Švihovský von Riesenberg .

The goods came from the Švihovský to Karl Ferdinand von Waldstein by marriage. He sold Nové Dvory in 1674 to Ferdinand Maximilian von Kaunitz . During this time the rulership deteriorated. The next owner was Johann Kaspar von Montani, who sold it to Bernard František Count von Věžník in 1679. In 1686 he had a new one built in place of the burned down Zerotein Castle. During his reign, Nové Dvory was raised to a town in 1701 by Emperor Leopold I. In 1764 Johann Karl Chotek von Chotkow bought the rule from Karl Josef Batthyány . During his reign, the palace was rebuilt in 1784, which included a large park with a pheasantry and orangery. Nové Dvory remained the manorial seat of the Counts Chotek von Chotkow until 1823 , Johann Rudolph Chotek von Chotkow had the new Kačina Castle built on the Kačina hill one kilometer north , which became the new seat of rule. Emerich Chotek von Chotkow, who died in 1911 without heirs, transferred the property in Nové Dvory to his nephew Guido von Thun and Hohenstein , who later became Count Guido Chotek von Chotkow.

In 1990 Nové Dvory was declared an urban monument zone. The castle now serves as a school. Nové Dvory has had the status of Městys since May 20, 2014.
