history
The village of Bor was founded in the 11th century on the territory of the Premyslids . The associated forest Bor bought in 1278 the Sedlec monastery ; it had him cleared and across from the village one after St. Nicholas create a monastery courtyard. In 1307 the Sedletz Cistercians built a church dedicated to St. Church dedicated to Nicholas. The village was then called Bor St. Nikolai ( Bor Svatého Mikuláše ). It belonged to the German-speaking Kuttenberger language island which existed until the Hussite Wars . The place name Bor expired at the end of the 15th century.
After Johann Karl Chotek von Chotkow had acquired the Neuhof rule in 1764 , he had the St. Nikolai farm repaired and new granaries built. He also had a Hegerhaus built on the embankment of the Studenetz pond. Between 1802 and 1822 Johann Rudolph Chotek von Chotkow had the representative Kačina Castle built on the hill between St. Nikolai and Neuhof . After the completion of the palace, Johann Rudolph Chotek had the dilapidated St. Nicholas Church repaired.
After the abolition of patrimonial Svatý Mikuláš formed a municipality in the judicial district of Kuttenberg. From 1868 the village belonged to the Kuttenberg district . The Chotek von Chotkow and Wognin family held their property in Kačina until the 20th century; In 1921 the childless Rudolf Chotek von Chotkowa and Wognin bequeathed the property in Kačina to his nephew Quido von Thun and Hohenstein , who leased the St. Nikolai farm.
In 1961 Svatá Kateřina and Rohozec were incorporated, at the same time Svatý Mikuláš were renamed Mikuláš and Svatá Kateřina in Kateřina. At the beginning of 1980 Lišice and Sulovice were incorporated. Since 1991 Svatý Mikuláš and Svatá Kateřina have used their historical names again.
