history

The first written mention of the Vodrant farm belonging to the Žleby lordship was in 1738, its owners were the princes of Auersperg . According to Antonín Profous , the square was originally called Rodland (when it was founded) , from which the name Lodrant later developed. In the second half of the 18th century the farm was parceled out and sold to settlers. The current place name Vodranty can be traced back to 1785.

After the abolition of patrimonial Vodranty formed a municipality in the judicial district of Časlau . From 1868 the village belonged to the Časlau district . In the course of the territorial reform of 1960, the Okres Čáslav was repealed; Vodranty was assigned to the Okres Kutná Hora and incorporated into Krchleby. The municipality of Vodranty has existed again since November 24, 1990.
