Církvice (German Zirkwitz ) is a municipality in the Okres Kutná Hora ( Kuttenberg ) with about 1240 inhabitants. It is located 5 km east of Kutná Hora on the Klejnarka in the Czech Republic . The municipality consists of the two districts Církvice and Jakub ( Sankt Jakob ), the formerly separate villages are now practically fused together. Of the 422 registered houses, 205 with 711 residents are in the district of Církvice.

Jakub is mentioned for the first time in 1165, the village of Církvice is first mentioned in historical sources in 1276.

In the district of Církvice
- Church of St. Laurentius (Czech kostel svatého Vavřince ) - The church was originally built in 1344 in Gothic style on a hill in the center of the village in the middle of the cemetery. In 1684 it was made Baroque . The two chapels attached to the side give the church the shape of a cross. A Gothic panel painting by the master of Wittingau and paintings by Ignaz Raab inside are remarkable .
