The National Park Đerdap (Serbian Nacionalni Park Đerdap ) is a national park in Serbia and the largest river cliff landscape in Europe .

It extends along the Danube and the border with Romania , from the city of Golubac to the small community of Tekija , over a length of 100 km and over an area of 63,680 hectares . The Danube breaks through the southwestern Carpathians here . Most of this national park and huge nature reserve is located in the Bor district of Serbia and a small part in the Braničevo district .

The unique thing about this park are the huge gorges and passes through which the Danube flows, which are among the largest in Europe. Đerdapska klisura is the name of the largest pass, which is also the largest in Europe. This pass in turn consists of four different furrows (Gornja klisura, Gospođin vir, Veliki and Mali kazan and Sipska klisura), which are individually separated by gorges. Gospođin vir has one of the greatest river depths in the world at 82 meters. The cliffs of the Kazan Canyon are over 300 meters high, while the river bed in this part is narrowed to 150 meters.

The entire area of the national park is characterized by a large variety of animals and plants, historical monuments and archaeological finds; the national park also includes the iron gate reservoir .

On the Cazan between the cities of Orșova and Donji Milanovac , the Danube is narrowed to 200 meters wide and 80 meters deep. Nature reserves have been set up on both sides of the Danube - the Nationalparkerdap National Park in Serbia and the Iron Gate Nature Park on the Romanian side . The aim is to create a cross-border biosphere reserve as part of the future Danube Region Euroregion .

The tertiary flora and fauna make it a unique nature reserve with over 1100 species of plants and animals such as brown bears , lynxes , wolves , golden jackals , black storks , some species of owls and other rare animals.

Lepenski Vir , Tabula Traiana and the bridge built by Apollodorus of Damascus are some of the most significant archaeological finds. They are under strict legal protection.

Lepenski Vir is over 8000 years old and provides information about the earlier inhabitants and settlements in this area. Golubački Grad (Golubac Fortress) and Kladovo are medieval monasteries and an important cultural heritage.

There are licensed hostels that offer tours of the park's cultural and natural monuments, as well as the power plant dam. The tourism in this region is increasingly developing.

The park's administrative authority is based in the nearby town of Donji Milanovac .
