Sharr National Park
The Sharr National Park ( Albanian Parku Kombëtar Sharri ; Serbian Национални парк Шара Nacionalni park Šara ) is located in Kosovo in the northern part of the Sharr mountain range , which partly also belongs to North Macedonia .
The national park extends over an area of 39,000 hectares . The Rumelian pine and the snake skin pine as well as the mountain rose grow on this mountainous area, the southern side of which belongs to Macedonia . In addition, many animal species, some of which are threatened with extinction , such as lynxes , bears , chamois and others live in this national park .
Small rivers and streams flow through the national park. The largest city and an important trading center for the area is Prizren . The municipalities of Ferizaj , Suhareka and Kaçanik are equally important .
The management of the national park is located in the small town of Štrpce , whose municipal area includes 60% of the park.
