The Lithuanian National Theater (lit.Lietuvos nacionalinis dramos teatras ) is a state theater in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius . The founder of the theater is the Ministry of Culture of Lithuania . The theater is located in the center of the city, in the old town of Vilnius . It was founded in 1940. The first performance was "Hope" by Herman Heijermans (1864-1924) on October 6, 1940 (director Romualdas Juknevičius).
