Sodium pertechnetate , NaTcO 4, is a chemical compound of sodium from the group of pertechnetates .

Extraction and presentation

The neutralization of pertechnetic acid with sodium hydroxide creates sodium pertechnetate .

properties

The salt is tetragonal. The Tc – O distance is 173.7  pm and the Na – O distance is between 253.3 and 276.25 pm. The angle of the O-Tc-O bond is between 108.03 and 112.4 °. The crystal structure of sodium pertechnetate is given with the space group I 4 1 / a (space group no. 88) with the lattice parameters a = 534.2 pm and c = 1187.4 pm at 25 ° C. At −173 ° C the lattice parameters are a = 529.45 pm and c = 1174.70 pm.
