Nattapong Kongkraphan (born May 29, 1998 ) is a Thai sprinter who specializes in the 400-meter run .

Athletic career

Nattapong Kongkraphan gained his first international experience at the 2015 Asian Youth Championships in Doha , where he won the silver medal in 48.02 seconds. The following year he finished eighth in the Junior Asian Championships in Ho Chi Minh City in 50.85 s and won the Thai 4 x 400 meter relay in 3: 11.59 min. This qualified the relay for the U20 World Championships in Bydgoszcz , where they eliminated with 3: 10.08 min in the lead. At the 2017 Asian Championships in Bhubaneswar , India , he won the bronze medal behind the teams from India and Sri Lanka in 3: 06.48 min. At the Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur , he won gold with the relay before he was eliminated in the preliminary round at the Summer Universiade in Taipei with the relay. At the beginning of September he won the bronze medal behind Pakistan and Qatar at the Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat in 3: 21.21 minutes.

In 2019 he finished fourth at the Asian Championships in Doha with the relay in 3: 10.28 min. In July he took part again in the Student World Games in Naples , but retired there with 48.14 s in the first round. At the beginning of December he was eliminated from the Southeast Asian Games in Capas with 47.95 s over 400 meters in the lead and won the silver medal behind the team from Vietnam in 3: 08.20 min.
