Schlei Nature Park
The Schlei Nature Park is located in the region around the Schlei in northern Schleswig-Holstein .
The sixth and northernmost nature park in Schleswig-Holstein was formally recognized by the Ministry of Agriculture on October 30, 2008. The sponsor is the Schlei Nature Park Association, founded in summer 2008 . The declared aim of the nature park is to strengthen the Schlei region as a living, recreational, natural and economic area.
The nature park includes the areas of 44 municipalities and cities on both sides of the 40-kilometer-long loop with a total of almost 50,000 hectares. The nature park covers communities of southern fishing as well as northern and northwestern Schwansen and extends over parts of the districts of Schleswig-Flensburg and Rendsburg-Eckernförde .
