Lean grassland nature reserve on the Käseberg

The Magergrünland nature reserve on the Käseberg has been a designated nature reserve (NSG) in the municipality of Eslohe ( Hochsauerlandkreis ) since 2008 . The 7.4 hectare NSG is located east of Wenholthausen . It consists of two sub-areas.

description

The area has mostly poor grassland with bushes, on hilltops and slopes. Species such as red- backed shrubs breed in the bushes .

Protection purpose

The NSG was designated for the maintenance and optimization of biotope complexes with large-scale lean grassland with woody structures and their typical animal and plant communities and for the promotion of lean grassland through extensive agricultural use.
