Naustdal is a village and a former municipality in the Norwegian province of Sogn og Fjordane (became part of Vestland in 2020 ). As part of the municipal reform in Norway , Naustdal, Førde , Gaular and Jølster were merged to form the new municipality of Sunnfjord on January 1, 2020 . The place Naustdal has 1064 inhabitants.

2793 inhabitants lived on an area of ​​369 km² (as of January 1, 2019). The municipality number was 1433. The last mayor was Håkon Myrvang ( Ap ).

Naustdal commune bordered Gloppen in the north, Jølster in the east , Flora commune in the west and Førde commune in the south-east . Askvoll lies across the fjord in the southwest .

Economy and Transport

Naustdal was mainly an agricultural commune , which is perhaps best known for the Nausta River with its salmon deposits.

Førde Airport, Bringeland is the nearest regional airport, it is located 27 kilometers from Naustdal.
