The Navy Point ( English , Spanish Punta Marina , both sides translated Marine Point ) is a headland in the southeast of the Brabant Island in the Palmer Archipelago off the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula . It marks the northeast boundary of the entrance to Chiriguano Bay .
Participants in an Argentine Antarctic expedition mapped it in 1954. It was named in 1978 in honor of the Argentine naval forces . The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee transferred the Argentine name in 1988 in a complete translation into English in order to avoid confusion with the Marina Point on Galíndez Island .
