Nažwan city forest

Coordinates: 32 ° 38 '32 "  N , 51 ° 37' 35"  O The Nazwan City Forest ( persian پارک جنگلی ناژوان Park e dschangali je Nažwan , IPA : pɑɾc ɛ d͡ʒængæli jɛ nɑʒvɑn ) is an urban forest in Isfahan . The word Nažwan consists of two words, Naž ( poplars ) and wan ( suffix denoting a place). So Nažwan means the place of the poplars .

The garden with an area of ​​1200 ha is located in the west of Isfahan. Nažwan is part of the original forest landscape on the outskirts of Isfahan. The Zayandeh Rud flows through the middle of the complex . As one of the few green spaces that has not been displaced by urban expansion , it refreshes the air and fulfills an important ecological function for the city with its tree population .

Through the project for the prosperity Nažwans the city council of Isfahan created opportunities for recreation, such as sports fields , a swimming pool , a camping , playgrounds for children, as well as opportunities for horse wheelers , equestrian sports , recreational boating and cycling .
