Necromessiah is an Italian black and thrash metal band from Portoscuso that was founded in 2002. It has meanwhile moved its headquarters to Sassari .

history

The band was formed in the winter of 2002. In May of that year a first demo consisting of four songs was recorded under the name In nomine deus quad ecclesias igne absumor and published in 2003. In March 2004 the debut album … instar gladii was recorded in corporem christ and released in December by Slava Productions . After several appearances, the drummer Necrowinter left the line-up for personal reasons and the bassist Nekrofelyam for professional reasons. After a demo with three songs, the album Antiklerical Teroristik Death Squad was released in the summer of 2007 by Blasphemous Underground Productions . In 2008 there was also a split release with Dewarsteiner under the name The Oath of Bacco Militia . In 2010 the EP Get Ready… was released , followed by another in 2012 under the name Unleash Disorder . During this time, smaller tours of the UK and Italy were held. After a recording deal with Punishment 18 Records was signed, the album The Last Hope of Humanity ... was released in 2013.

style

Michael Oelschlegel from voicesfromthedarkside.de wrote in his review of … instar gladii in corporem christ that both the packaging and the music of the album follow the path to the left hand . The songs sound influenced by groups like Venom , Hellhammer , Celtic Frost , Sodom as well as some South American bands and would offer primitive Black Metal. The songs are not particularly original; They would fulfill every Black Metal cliché both in terms of the titles and the lyrics, with the music usually moving in the medium to fast range in terms of tempo. Mario Cubero from the same website described Antiklerical Terroristik Death Squad as a mixture of Thrash- and Black-Metal, with groups like Venom, Sodom, Carpathian Forest , Impaled Nazarene , Celtic Frost, Hellhammer and Motörhead as influences. The music is aggressive and is based on the style of the 1980s, although it still lacks innovation. Philip from Metal.de also reviewed the album and assigned it to War Metal , but compared to other representatives of the genre, the group was still quite organized. The song structures are easy to understand and Thrash Metal features are repeatedly incorporated into the compositions. The latter is also evident in the vocals, which are more typical of Thrash Metal. The songs are not original and hardly differ from each other. Andreas Krause from bloodchamber.de said about The Last Hope of Humanity… that it contains a balanced mixture of Thrash and Black Metal that is straightforward and groove- oriented. You can't get close to groups like Aura Noir , Nekromantheon and Desaster because the songs are too unimaginative and interchangeable in the long run.
