Nenad Medić (born December 21, 1983 in Apatin , SFR Yugoslavia ) is a professional Canadian poker player .
Career
At the age of five, Medić moved to Canada with his family and took on Canadian citizenship. During his university days he played basketball and came to poker indirectly. He chose to pursue a career as a poker player rather than a basketball player.
Since 2005, Medić has cashed in the main event of the World Poker Tour 18 times and reached four final tables there . In November 2006, he won the WPT Championship Event at Foxwoods Resort Casino . He received more than 1.7 million US dollars , its biggest to date prize money. A year later Medić managed third place in this tournament, for which he received half a million dollars. At the 2008 WSOP he won the first tournament in which the variant Pot Limit Hold'em was played. For this he received a prize of almost $ 800,000 and a bracelet .
Overall, his total live tournament revenue adds up to over $ 4.5 million.
