Nest is a village in the market town of Altlengbach in the St. Pölten-Land district , Lower Austria in the Laabenbach valley .

The village is located east of St. Pölten in the Lower Austrian Pre-Alps and at the western end of the Vienna Woods . On January 1st, 2020 the village had 13 inhabitants.

Explanation of the place name: The obvious explanation with bird's nest is wrong, because according to the spelling of 1515 as Nechst , the name comes from the superlative of close .
