The iris reticulata ( Iris reticulata , Syn. : Iridodictyum reticulatum . (MB) Rodion , Iris hyrcana . Woron ), also tresses iris , dwarf iris or network-iris called, takes its species name because of the net-like onion skin ( reticulatus "reticulate "). It is a plant that the genus Iris ( Iris ) in the family of the Iridaceae belongs (Iridaceae).

The iris is a perennial herbaceous plant that reaches heights of 7 to 15 centimeters. This geophyte forms small onions as persistence organs. The leaves are very narrow and reach heights of up to 30 centimeters.
Depending on the variety, the flower color includes different shades of blue from light blue to purple-violet, with yellow and white. The flowering time is mainly in March, depending on the location also at the end of February.
The number of chromosomes is 2n = 20, less often 16, 18 or 26.
Occurrence

One can distinguish between two varieties:
- Iris reticulata var. Kurdica Rukšans : It occurs in eastern Turkey.
- Iris reticulata var. Reticulata : It occurs from eastern Turkey to northern and western Iran.
use
Iris reticulata is used as an ornamental plant. In the garden, she wants a sunny to partially shaded location in loose, neutral to alkaline soil. A suitable location for this species of iris is a location in the rock garden, but in gardens it can also be found in lawns and flower beds.
