Facilities

The NAK-Humanitas Foundation was set up by the District Church of Switzerland. The task of the organization is to support and promote aid projects in Switzerland and in the countries overseen by the District Church. In war and catastrophe scenarios, it supports aid worldwide.

Ecumenism

NAK Switzerland has been a guest member of the Working Group of Christian Churches in Switzerland there since 2014 . An important criterion for acceptance was the signing of the Charter Oecumenica , which sets out the guidelines for cooperation between the Christian churches in Europe. It should be the first New Apostolic member church to take this step of rapprochement with the ecumenical movement . The NAK Switzerland is also active in the ecumenical movement on a regional basis. B. in the canton of Zurich .

In Austria , the NAK has been represented as an observer in the Ecumenical Youth Council since 2012, where it has already participated in ecumenical worship services several times. In 2014 the World Council of Churches in Austria (ÖRKÖ) and the NAK there published a joint guide.

History processing

In 1954, the excluded Apostles Otto and Ernst Güttinger split off from the NAK Switzerland due to conflicts over the position of Chief Apostle and the "message" of Chief Apostle Bischoff and founded the Association of Apostolic Christians Switzerland (VAC) with numerous other members .

The initial attitude of the NAK Switzerland can definitely be described as hostile. The District Apostle at the time and later Chief Apostle Ernst Fahrtisen fended off attempts by the VAC to persuade the VAC after Bischoff's death and thus the non-fulfillment of his message by equating writings on that side with “dirty water”, calling them “dangerous to life” and even burning pamphlets called. While the Chief Apostles Hans Urwyler and Richard Fehr occasionally made friendly contacts with the VAC, District Apostle Armin Studer led the first official apology and declaration of reconciliation to the VAC and one of the first “embassy” splits in the history of the NAK.
