Architecture and history

The two-story half - timbered house was built according to an inscription on the threshold in 1673 on the highest point on Neuendorf Street . Its width includes nine containers . It was originally designed on three floors. The compartments of the basement of the baroque building are provided with ornamental brickwork. On the upper floor, however, there is a walling with rubble stones .

In the 19th century, the facade was redesigned by plastering in the classicism style. In the period after 1945 up to five tenants lived in the building. At the end of the 20th century the house was in dire need of renovation. The demolition was scheduled for 1989 and began in the autumn of that year. However, against the background of the political change , demolition was stopped. However, the building continued to deteriorate for 19 years. It had to be stabilized by external supports facing the street and also on the north side, which was not built up at the time.

In 2008, the ruin was given a new owner, who initiated the reconstruction. The building was extensively renovated by qbatur architects . A living space of 160 m² was created. Since the house no longer had historical floors, underfloor heating could be installed in the rooms . A solar thermal system was installed on the roof area facing the courtyard , which is used to heat the domestic water. A gas condensing boiler was installed as heating.
