history

Johann Friedrich Danneil wrote very vaguely in 1843: “In a property record of the Dambeck Monastery there is also: the desert village of Cernitz, the nige Hof tho Cernitz bi Keuelde prove. “The historian Peter Rohrlach is of the opinion that this statement, which Wilhelm Zahn took over, cannot be substantiated. Danneil concludes: "The new courtyard (Vorwerk from the Dambeck office) is therefore built on the grounds of the Mark Cernitz".

The place was first mentioned in a document in 1573 as the official Vorwerk Zum Newenhofe , which was located right behind Kuhfelde and comprised three fields of land. The first in front of the Zernitz church, the second in front of the Propstberge with Lutkens and Lütke Weschens Kampe ... In 1711 Niehenhoff was called Kuhfelde . A sheep farm called Neue Hoff was mentioned in 1721.

In 1804 the Vorwerk was called Neuhof

In the years 1811 and 1842, the foundations of the old Zernitz church were demolished and several medieval iron tools were found that came to the museum in Salzwedel.

In 1905 the place belonged as Forsthof Neuhof to the Ferchau estate . With the incorporation of the Ferchau estate into the rural community of Kuhfelde on September 30, 1928, Neuhof became part of Kuhfelde. In the years 1931 and 1957 the place was called Forsthaus Neuhof. He later disappeared from official registers. In 2011 and 2016 the Neuhof residential area was named again.
