Heike Eder (* the thirtieth May 1988 in Feldkirch as Heike Türtscher ) is a former Austrian disabled athlete in the field of alpine skiing and politician ( ÖVP ). Eder has been a delegated member of the Austrian Federal Council from the state of Vorarlberg since November 2019 .

Life

Heike Türtscher, as it was then, grew up in Vorarlberg in Batschuns on, found the age of five the way to skiing, was already in her youth as VSV junior runner (Vorarlberg Ski Association) in ski racing active and visited after completion of secondary school Muntlix in Tirol the Stams ski school .
In the last school year, when she was 18 years old, she suffered a spinal injury in a training fall in November 2006 and has been paraplegic ever since.

She learned to ski in monos the same season after the accident. Since 2014/2015 she has competed in races as a disabled athlete ( monoskibob ) and was accepted into the squad of the Austrian Ski Association (ÖSV).

Heike Eder has been working for the Vorarlberg Chamber of Labor since 2013 and is now the HR manager there. She has been married to Armin Eder since June 2017, lives in Götzis and is trained by Eric Digruber (national team), Robert Meusburger and the monoski world champion Philipp Bonadimann (Ski for Life).

At the Para World Cup races in Kühtai from 19 to 22 December 2017, she qualified for the Paralympics 2018 with sixth place in the giant slalom and fourth place in the slalom of the LW-12 class.

On March 18, 2018 at the Winter Paralympics in Pyeongchang , South Korea , Eder won the seventh medal for the Austrian team with bronze in the slalom .

In June 2019 it was passed by the ÖSV. In October 2019 she was presented by the Vorarlberg People's Party as the successor to Martina Ess as a member of the Austrian Federal Council sent by the Vorarlberg State Parliament .
