Newcomb Cleveland Prize

The Newcomb Cleveland Prize is an annual award from the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) for outstanding publications in the AAAS journal , Science . Initially known as the AAAS Thousand Dollar Prize from 1923 onwards , the award was named after the previously anonymous founder, Newcomb Cleveland , in 1951 after the death of the latter.

The prize is awarded at the annual meeting of the AAAS and is endowed with 25,000 US dollars (as of 2015) . The award winner also receives a bronze medal . The current sponsor (as of 2015) is the Fodor Family Trust .
